Interfaith Community Services of SC, Inc. Mission

Founded in 1969 by representatives from six Columbia churches, Interfaith Community Services of South Carolina, Inc., unites people in need of help with people who can help.  We become the common ground for organizations that have and families who have not, by providing training and technical assistance, engaging religious organizations, government, business and community-based groups, and agencies as active partners, and actively participating in state and local councils and committees.  This also involves developing cooperative programs that respond to the needs of families. Children are, and always will be, a major focus of this organization  

Interfaith Community Services of SC, Inc. Goals

• To provide training and technical assistance enabling South Carolina's religious community to meet critical social needs

• To sponsor and support local and state initiatives, which help people overcome the interrelated barriers of racism and poverty in South Carolina

• To develop collaborative programs and resources responding to the needs of South Carolina's children and young people

• To improve the affordability, availability and quality of early care education programs in Faith and Community Based Child Care Centers throughout South Carolina
