Child and Adult Care Food Program
The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is open to any registered (6 children) or licensed (12 children) home child care provider. Interfaith Community Services reimburses home child care providers for meals fed to children in their care. The funds are available through the United States Department of Agriculture to ensure that children enrolled in home child care are receiving adequate nutrition. Anyone is eligible for this free service, regardless of income.
Under our sponsorship, you receive:
· Monthly reimbursement for food served to children in your care
· Monthly newsletter with recipes, activities and tips relating to home child care
· $25 referral fee for anyone referring new providers who participate under our sponsorship
· Free nutrition information
· Free nutritional training
· All services, supplies and nutrition training are free of charge to the provider
· Free books and recordkeeping information
Children in your care will:
· Receive nutritious meals and snacks
· Develop good eating habits
· Develop strong bodies, good teeth and alert minds
· Learn about nutrition
· Develop fewer illnesses
